Our commitment
Summis aims to make its website and product usable by as many people as possible. We design and build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard. Accessibility work is ongoing; we improve issues as we find them.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML landmarks, headings, and labels where practical
- Keyboard focus styles and skip links on key pages
- Text alternatives for meaningful images
- Support for reduced-motion preferences on animated landing elements
- Color themes that aim for readable contrast in light and dark modes
Known limitations
Some areas may not yet meet every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion. Examples include complex interactive widgets (school pickers, essay tools, chat), dense dashboard charts or tables, and third-party content we do not control (embedded images or linked PDFs from colleges). We prioritize fixes based on impact and frequency of use.
