1. General information disclosure
Content on Summis, including strategy reports, school matches, essay tools, blog posts, and chat responses, is for general educational purposes. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed counselor, attorney, financial adviser, or any other professional. You are responsible for how you use Summis and for verifying important facts before relying on them.
2. No guarantee of admission or outcomes
Summis does not guarantee admission to any college or university, scholarship eligibility, financial aid, improved test scores, or any other academic or admissions outcome. Admissions decisions are made solely by each institution based on its own criteria, which may change.
3. Artificial intelligence
Some Summis features use artificial intelligence. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular student. You must review recommendations, deadlines, requirements, essay ideas, and other outputs before relying on or submitting them. Official college sources control when they differ from Summis.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summis and its operators are not liable for decisions you make based on the service, including college applications, essay submissions, or school list changes. Full limitation of liability and related terms are set out in our Terms of Service.
5. Third-party links and sources
Summis may link to or surface information from third-party websites, including college admissions pages, Common Data Set documents, government education datasets, and Wikimedia Commons. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
6. Advertising and affiliate links
Summis does not currently use affiliate marketing links or paid advertising placements in the product. If that changes, we will disclose it clearly on this page and in relevant content.
7. Sources and attribution
College statistics and institutional facts are drawn primarily from public first-party sources such as Common Data Set publications and U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard data. Campus photographs shown in Summis are typically sourced from Wikimedia Commons under the licenses published with each file. Where available, Summis displays photographer or author credit and license information next to the image. Blog posts cite official sources in a Sources and notes section; see also our Editorial standards.
